Kendal Model Railway Club is a small friendly band of dedicated modellers who meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 in The Bryce Institute, Burneside near Kendal, see below for directions. We believe that without members a club is nothing and make every effort to make all welcome.
"OO" Gauge Layouts.
Severnside. A small preserved Layout measuring 7'x5'
Scorbiton, New layout nearing completion. Set on the Western, London Midland region frontier during the 1980s. loosely inspired by Shrewsbury in Shropshire.
Dale Head L.N.E.R. and L.M.S. joint trans pennine route. Runs in 1930s and 1960s period.
Polveryan A classic G.W.R. branch line terminal.
Rushen Valley Railway, Our immensely popular modular layout of a preserved railway.

From The South.
From Junction 36 on the M6 follow the A591 to The Gateway roundabout and take the 2nd turning off the roundabout sign posted Windermere and Ambleside, after 200mtrs turn right, sign posted Burneside, on to Hollins Lane, follow this road down the hill and over the level crossing turn left at the T junction and the Bryce Institute is 300mtrs on the left.
From Kendal.
Turn on to Burneside Road from Windermere Road at the traffic lights near St Thomas's Church and the Union Tavern, continue past the Court Building until you reach Burneside and follow the road about 300mtrs past the Jolly Angler Pub.
From Windermere.
Follow the A591 towards Kendal, pass the BP filling station at Plantation Bridge and climb the hill which is dual carriageway, once the road has become single carriageway about 100mtrs turn left on to Hollins Lane and follow the instructions above.
